Description
Orange calcite is a vibrant mineral with a color resembling that of an orange fruit, part of the calcite mineral group. Its hue can vary based on trace elements, offering shades from pink to deep orange.
Inspired by Shiro Kuramata’s belief that enchantment is a function, Sola Cubes reflect humanity’s timeless fascination with preserving moments in time. Crafted by Usage No Nedoko in Kyoto, each cube encases a real leaf, seed, or flower in hand-polished acrylic resin, blending traditional Japanese reverence for nature with modern design.
Each Sola Cube is handmade, ensuring unique variations in size, color, and shape—just like nature itself. Display yours away from direct sunlight and high temperatures to preserve its clarity and beauty.

I was drawn to this Sola Cube’s unique concept and vibrant orange calcite inclusion. The craftsmanship is impressive – you can see the organic leaf perfectly preserved inside. It’s a lovely decorative piece that adds warmth to my desk. The 4x4x4cm size fits perfectly in small spaces. While pricey at $57, the handcrafted quality from Kyoto makes it feel special. Reminds me of Glenn Close’s appreciation for artisanal pieces.
