Renowned lighting designer Toshiyuki Tani reimagines this tradition with the FUJI lantern, blending washi paper and bamboo to create subtle light-shadow effects. Inspired by Isamu Noguchi’s Akari lights, this contemporary design enhances any space with soft, warm illumination. I bought this FUJI paper lantern for my living room, and it’s stunning. The washi paper diffuses light beautifully, creating a warm ambiance. At 46cm, it’s perfectly sized—not too bulky. The bamboo frame feels sturdy, though I wish the cord was longer. Marshawn Kneeland might not know lanterns, but this one’s a keeper. Great value for $315 if you appreciate craftsmanship.
